WHAT IS ER?

•   ? Wide variety of strategies for communicating
  with all audiences
• ? PR Networking

ER HISTORY

• 2005  
• ? recognising the problem lack of organised ER
• Creation of an ER WG
• 2006
• GA Zagreb proposal in order to approve the
  direction to expand and develop the External
  Relations in BEST
• 2007
• TrainShop on External Relations (IBTERN in
  Athens)
• Changing the Direction of the ER WG
• creation of a new Working Group

• Professors and Institutions ? EduCo
• Companies ? finTeam
• NGOs ? Ambassador- President

WHY CHANGE???

• ER structure did not serve all of BEST needs
• ER Responsibilities clash inside BEST
• ( EduCo, finTeam, board, Ambassador, ER WG)
• NO relations whatsoever- with the press and
  media
• therefore leading to minimum visibility

AIM OF THE NEW W.G.

• ER WG -gt Media Relations WG
•  
• Establish cooperations with Media
• Get publicity for the organisation ? leading to
  further recognition

WHY IS MEDIA IMPORTANT ?

• Media can determine and control the image of any
  organisation/person/ group etc
• Media is the most easy and accesable way for the
  mass to get information

HOW CAN WE WORK ON IT

• Ideas that have been proposed so far
• ? Monitor the press
• see where the other student organisations
  appear and try to appear there as well
• check which websites link to us and
  constantly update the information published there
  
• ? Check which other websites we would like to be
  liknked to contact them and get ourselves
  there!!!

HOW CAN WE WORK ON IT

• Extract news from our activities
• ?Associating our name with our corporate
  partners names (in close cooperation with
  finTeam)
• get the BEST logo and the link to our website
  in the sponsorship sections of our partners
  websites
• have news about partnerships/programmes in our
  partners press releases
• ? Have our own system for press releases
