What Is Habitat?

• Founded 1976 by Millard and Linda Fuller
• Built over 120,000 homes in U.S. and world wide
• Benefits low income families

• Started in 1991 by local residents
• Hundreds of volunteers coming from different
  backgrounds, race, ethnic, and religious groups
  are involved
• This year there have already been four houses
  built in Corvallis, including one in Alsea
• Completed homes for 15 families in Philomath,
  Alsea and Corvallis

Helping The Community

• By taking this class we are helping the
  community by building houses for families. We are
  also meeting other people from around the
  community who are volunteering. It also gives us
  a chance to build a network of references for the
  future.

REFLECTIONS

• I hope we are helping the community in helping
  people find homes.
• I like working with this bunch of volunteers and
  at this site.
• They depend on me a lot more than I expected and
  I admire that.
• I hope that they appreciate the work we have
  done and will be doing.
