Winter Road Construction Snowcat support for
the Oil Gas Industry. In the Fort Nelson area
for ENCANA
8
Behind the Cat was a 25W x 25D deep collie that
we filled in. They are freezing it in behind us
We open Existing r/w and Leases. Here we pushed
snow for the approaches on a Bridge
9
We worked for Barrick Gold in the BC Costal
Mountains on a Diamond Drilling Exploration
Program
10
There were some great Days!!
11
Building a Drill Pad a long way up!!!!
12
DEEP SNOW!!! Approx. 15Deep
We worked with a Track hoe to find dirt for Drill
Pads and then Push/Pull the Drills up the
Mountain onto location
13
Some odd Drill Locations and some beautiful
Scenery
14
In 2006 We had 4 Cats working double shift on the
Ice Road to the Diamond Mines in NWT We are the
first ones on the Ice to open the Road
15
A view of a Portage, a Small herd of Caribou
our Crew at Dawn
16
Our crew and a view of the Ice road. Looks Cold!
17
Usually very white outside
18
We are hired by a company called NUNA LOGISTICS,
they are in charge of the Ice Road
19
An Aerial Picture of the Ice Road. One of my
Operators took this picture because he figured
the night crew must have built this stretch
because the road was crooked
20
We also worked at a place called KENNEDY LAKE. An
exploration camp about 300 km north on the Winter
Road then another 120km East
21
The Kitchen and our Bed
22
We were used for building Ice Roads
Survival
Maintaining an Airstrip to land a Herc
23
Placing the new Camp
Help laying Cuttings Pipeline
To Moving Drills
24
We work for a Company called MATRIX AVAITION out
of YK. For this job we delivered Fuel and
Supplies, that did not fit in small planes, to an
Exploration camp that was 35 miles off the Winter
Road
We could haul 46 Barrels of fuel to camp (35
miles one way) for about the same rate as 1 hour
of Helicopter flying time
25
We work for SEABRIDGE GOLD INC near Courageous
Lake by the old Salmita Mine Site
26
We are used for Moving Drills, Maintaining a 15
km Road, An Airstrip, moving Core, Fuel, Hoses,
Pumps, Shacks, Etc.
27
The Modern Technology. Sat Radio and GPS. This
location is noted for Bad Weather. The GPS is a
must for the first part of this job when we were
hauling freight off the winter Road until the
last 15 km was opened for truck traffic. It was
used more than once to find our way back to camp
or to the Winter Road.
28
The final part of this Job was to transport all
the Tools of the Job to the Airstrip to be loaded
out. For the Winter Road was already shut down.
These pictures were taken on April 10
29
We hauled our own little Forklift with us on our
Toboggan. This is a New Generator and its Fuel
Tank for Camp, before the Winter Road was built
into Site.
30
We left one Machine in for the summer because
when the job was done there was no Winter road
left to get it out.
Went back late summer to service!!!
31
In our business we have been fortunate to see
some neat things
