Description:

White Grizzly Lodge is located in Meadow Creek, BC, just off Highway 31, at the north end of Kootenay Lake. There are two ways to enter Meadow Creek, following the highway south from Revels toke, or north from Kaslo. A large section of road from Revel stoke is unpaved, and the highways in both directions wind through mountain passes where winter storms can come on suddenly. The roads are well maintained, however they are sometimes unavoidably covered in compact snow or ice. Travel to your Cat Skiing Holiday Spot
White Grizzly Lodge is located in Meadow Creek,
BC, just off Highway 31, at the north end of
Kootenay Lake. There are two ways to enter Meadow
Creek, following the highway south from Revels
toke, or north from Kaslo. A large section of
road from Revel stoke is unpaved, and the
highways in both directions wind through mountain
passes where winter storms can come on suddenly.
The roads are well maintained, however they are
sometimes unavoidably covered in compact snow or
ice. We strongly recommend that you bring a
4-wheel drive vehicle to come snow cat skiing
here.

The Lodge at White Grizzly Cat Skiing
The White Grizzly Lodge is made of local logs,
harvested from pine beetle kill-zones, milled by
a neighbouring millwright. Much of the buildings
are hand-crafted by the owners, Carole and Brad,
with the help of their family and friends. The
Lodge is an intimate, quiet, and super
comfortable 3200 square foot home-away-from-home.
It is nestled in a secluded 10 acre forest of
larch, cedar and hemlock, and is accessible by
vehicle year-round.

Cat Skiing
Cat skiing involves conveying people up a
mountain in a snowcat, the same heavy machine
that is used for grooming the slopes of
commercial snow resorts. The use of a snowcat
allows people to ski or ride fresh, untracked
backcountry terrain, without the effort and
equipment required for ski touring, or
foot-travel. It is also more economical and
environmentally friendly than heliskiing, which
involves commuting to the top of a mountain by
helicopter. First started in 1975 in Meadow
Creek, BC, cat skiing has grown to 20 operations
in BC, more than 40 worldwide, and hosts more
than 40 000 visitors each season. White Grizzly
Cat Skiing caters to a maximum of 12 guests per
day, which means our unique services are only
experienced by approximately 200 guests each
winter.
