Background
  • Based on the 2003 Resource Mobilisation Strategy
    and modified to reflect changes in the
    environment
  • Seeks to generate resources for the Partnership
    as a whole and the Secretariat-management
    programs in particular
  • Need US3.77 billion for the Partnership as a
    whole and US40.6 million for the programs
    managed directly by the Secretariat (GDF, working
    groups, etc.)

Action Plan Objectives
  • Develop a set of support structures and formal
    processes
  • Ensure donors recognise the challenge of TB
    control and give high priority to supporting Stop
    TB Partnership
  • Increase flow of resources from the existing
    supporters of the Stop TB Partnership in a timely
    manner
  • Develop new fund-raising products and approaches

    resources contributed by them
  • Establish strategic alliance between Stop TB and
    other development oriented institutions/initiative

Objective 2
  • Increase donors recognition support for the
    Stop TB Partnership
  • Collaborate with the Communication and Advocacy
    working group to develop a global communication
    strategy that has fund raising as an integral
    part

  • Increase resource flow from the existing
    supporters in a timely manner
  • Build support from bilateral government donors
  • Develop closer ties with GFATM
  • Cultivate support from the EU
  • Identify several private foundations/commercial
    enterprises to engage as new supporters and
    donors
  • Establish links with fraternal organisations like
    the Rotary International
  • Explore the possibility of securing the support
    of high net worth individuals

  • Develop new fund raising products and approaches
  • Determine the type of products that will appeal
    to donors and that will make the case
    clearly
  • Explore cause-related marketing with some large
    multinational enterprises
  • Explore the concept of planned giving for
  • high-net worth individuals

Recommendations
  • Convert the Resource Mobilisation Task Force into
    and ad hoc advisory group available to the
    Secretariat and the Board on an as needed basis
  • Operationalise the Resource Mobilisation Action
    Plan
  • Allocate responsibilities
  • Agree a sequenced schedule of work
  • Agree a time line with all concerned
  • Agree on resources to be allocated for the plan
  • Execute the Action Plan
  • Update the plan based on a feedback in November
