  • Hi! Today I am going to teach you about
    cholesterol. FACT Did you know that 60 of
    American have lots of cholesterol? If you have a
    lot of what the pictures on the right show, then
    that means that you have a lot of cholesterol.

  • Some people say, What is cholesterol? The
    answer is Cholesterol is a soft, waxy substance
    found among the lipids (fats) in the bloodstream
    and in all of your body's cells. It helps the
    body to carry fat and consequently to store
    energy and carry vitamins.

Cholesterol
  • There are two (2) types of cholesterol. There are
    LDL cholesterol and HDL cholesterol.
  • LDL ( low density lipoprotein) cholesterol is
    called bad cholesterol and is best if 100 or
    lower.
  • HDL (high density lipoprotein) cholesterol is
    when you have higher than 40. It is often called
    good cholesterol. Total cholesterol should be
    lower than 200.

    cholesterol.

  • Strokes
  • Obesity
  • And death
  • Cholesterol can be very dangerous.

  • How do you lower cholesterol? A good way to lower
    cholesterol is to eat foods with less fat
    especially saturated fats and sodium. Eat a lot
    of fibers and foods that have less calories.
    Limit foods, such as egg yolks, whole milk and
    organ meats (liver, for example), and processed
    foods.
