Semi-Classical and Classical Indian Dance Workshop
- The Centre of Asian Studies China-India Project
is pleased to announce the upcoming arrival of a
visiting fellow from India, Mr. Santosh Menon
Kumar, who specialises in Classical Indian Dance
and our offer of free Semi-Classical and
Classical Indian Dance Workshops for HKU staff
and students in December 2006 and January 2007. - Receiving his formal training in the world
renowned Kalekshetra College of Fine Arts in
India, Mr. Santosh Menon Kumar is a gifted
professional Indian Classical dancer with a
Masters Degree in Bharatanatyam and Classical
Music (Karnatic). In 1986-1988, he was awarded
the Kalaprathibha (first prize) titles for
Indian semi-classical music, folk and pure
classical music. The dance workshops will be
held in the reading room of the Centre of Asian
Studies (Room G4) of the Tang Chi Ngong Building.
