The forum of any large Roman city was an open
place where people could gather. Nearby were
centers of government, places of worship, and
markets.

• The House of the Faun is a huge house that
  takes up nearly a whole city block. The people
  who lived here were probably important officials.

The Thermae Stabianae
The Latin word thermae means "hot baths." These
public baths were like spas.
