so far the only way to keep in touch and inform

Future Forecast
26AMATEURS RADIO ALGERIENS
Algeria is a wide country with a wonderful 1200
Km coast on the Mediterranean sea, however
situated on an active seismic zone which has been
well known in the last centuries.
27AMATEURS RADIO ALGERIENS
- This seismic zone expands on 100 Km inland
including all the coastal band which gives us a
120 000 km² of seismic surface that are
completely exposed to natural catastrophes with a
maximum density.

29AMATEURS RADIO ALGERIENS
-
- Besides earthquakes, land sliding such as in
Constantine area, flooding and diseases requiring
specific observation. - In fact it has been demonstrated that in
similar circumstances, first hours are crucial in
saving human lives.
30AMATEURS RADIO ALGERIENS
- Contacts will be held with the National
Federation of Radio Hams at the Civil security
services (FNRASEC) to check their organization
with the idea of including their activities
within the ARA
31AMATEURS RADIO ALGERIENS
- The FNRASEC have provided several information
and have proposed a joint venture between the
ARA and the FNRASEC - The Joint Venture concept is still under
study by the ARA as a second opinion has been
requested from the civil protection team
32AMATEURS RADIO ALGERIENS
- The Joint venture should be signed between the
ARA and the FNRASEC during the FNRASEC congress
that shall be held in Nainville (FRANCE) in
September 2005 with the presence of the ARA
33AMATEURS RADIO ALGERIENS
- Following this friendship and brotherhood
meeting, the URE President have decided to
provide ARA with a basic equipment for training
research and use in emergency cases and natural
catastrophes
34AMATEURS RADIO ALGERIENS
- On a first phase the URE provided six
operational portable ICOM H16 and two out of
order
35AMATEURS RADIO ALGERIENS
- On a second phase, a VHF repeator will be
provided
36AMATEURS RADIO ALGERIENS
- A file has been prepared and issued to ARPT to
obtain an authorization granting. This process
is still on going
37AMATEURS RADIO ALGERIENS
- To have a better idea on our services as well
as introducing all possible radio Hams services
in urgent situations and mainly to update our
training, a Field Day organization should be
held for Algerian Hams
38AMATEURS RADIO ALGERIENS
- The Field Day will be a simulation day for a
catastrophic case. It will enable users and the
team to establish radio links with a QRP
equipment that is battery power fed only
39AMATEURS RADIO ALGERIENS
- This exercise is considered excellent as it
will enable us to evaluate our real capacities
and behavior towards stressfull and catastrophic
situations
40AMATEURS RADIO ALGERIENS
- The same exercices were realesed beetween ARA
and Algerian Civils Protection,
41AMATEURS RADIO ALGERIENS
42AMATEURS RADIO ALGERIENS
- Since ages the earth has always quaked and
will always do! However no one knows when and
where will be the next time? unfortunately nobody
can predict such catastrophes for the moment. As
a result we have to be always prepared to face
and deal with nature and learn the best efficient
ways to be vigilant and helpful when the time
comes
43AMATEURS RADIO ALGERIENS
- On a long term, ARA is planning a second
repeator installation VHF/UHF to be able to
control the 120 000 km² and respond promptly
through an instant authority alert, and therefore
contribute for an effective aid organization
44AMATEURS RADIO ALGERIENS
- On a short term, a VHF connection will be
installed in Algiers for testing. This new base
will enable us to control Tipazas area, as well
as some of Chelf, Bouira as well as Tizi Ouzou
areas including Boumerdes
