8Wal-Mart expands worker health benefits Tue Sep
30, 2008 1156am EDT ATLANTA (Reuters) - Retail
leader Wal-Mart Stores Inc said on Tuesday that
it was expanding health benefits for workers,
including offering a 2009 program that provides
pre-pregnancy and child development
services. The company said a "Life With Baby"
program in next year's benefits package would
provide workers counseling with registered
nurses through all phases of maternity.
Wal-Mart state's top private employer The Times
West Virginian September 21, 2008 As it has
been since 1998, Wal-Mart Stores Inc. is the
state's largest private employer, according to a
new study by the research office of WorkForce
West Virginia. Wal-Mart has opened new stores in
Kingwood, Hurricane and Martinsburg in the past
year.

March. 22, 2007 BENTONVILLE, Ark. - Wal-Mart
made its annual bonus for store employees public
for the first time in two decades Thursday,
saying that about 80 percent of hourly workers in
its stores would split more than a half-billion
dollars. Wal-Mart Stores Inc. is the target of
union-backed critics who decry its pay and
benefits. The Bentonville, Ark.-based retailer
said it was making the bonuses public as a new
way to honor its employees, not in response to
critics.
