What is Carton Live Storage?
  • Carton Live Storage is a gravity fed storage and
picking system. Replenishment cartons are loaded
at the rear and flow towards the front of the
rack. The first carton placed in the shelf is the
first at the offload end. Such a system
    facilitates 100 stock rotation.
  • Cartons are stored on inclined tracks with
rollers. When a carton is removed, the one
immediately behind it gently rolls into position
ensuring automatic stock rotation and that stock
    is always available for picking.
  • This system is most commonly used for medium
moving items of a smaller nature.

4
User ProfileCarton Live Storage
  • Primarily used in order-picking operations to
ensure that stock is always available for picking
    customer orders
  • This system is designed for medium-high
throughput split-case order picking of physically
    small goods
  • Cartonflo is used to integrate order picking and
    storage applications

5
Carton Live Storage vs. Static Shelving
  • Why is Carton Live Storage better?
  • Reduction in required floor area
  • Reduced picking time
  • Better consolidation of SKUs
  • Increase in pick rates
  • Greater potential for 100 stock rotation
  • Separate picking and replenishment zones
  • Full and Split case pickings within the same bay
  • Reduced labour costs

6
Typical System CharacteristicsCarton Live Storage
  • Carton Live Storage suits picking from cartons or
    tote bins
  • Carton Live Storage condenses the pick face,
reducing the travel time between picks
  • Guide rails help to keep products segregated on
    the Carton Live Storage system
  • Carton Live Storage is easy to reconfigure for
    different product types
  • Designed for medium-high throughput split-case
    order picking
  • Suitable for a wide range of physically small
    goods
  • Eliminates the need for urgent pick face
    replenishments
  • 100 First In/First Out rotation

7
Carton Live Storage in Pick Applications
  • One of the most effective Carton Live Storage
application is in a pick module, where you find a
high concentration of SKUs and labour
  • CLS systems can be fitted with front mounted or
internal conveyors to facilitate product transfer
  • Pick and Put-to-Light systems may be fitted to
the front of CLS for high volume order picking

Colby Connectors Clips
  • 4-tang End Connector
  • Improved stability under the most demanding
    conditions
  • Maximum structural effectiveness
  • For Standard, Heavy-Duty and Structural Box Beams
  • 3-tang End Connector
  • For light-duty Open Section beams only
  • Used for shelving and CLS applications
  • Safety Clips
  • Spring-loaded to prevent accidental dislodging
  • Available for Heavy-Duty (patented and
    registered) and Standard Beams

12
Upright Protectors for Carton Live Storage
  • Even the best forklift drivers have accidental
    collisions with racking.
  • Worst case scenario involves a rack collapse
  • Impact damage
  • weakens the racking structure
  • compromising the rack load carrying capacity
  • Potentially putting both property and life,
  • at risk
  • Protect your business and your people
  • with Protect-a-Rack
  • A specially notched version suitable for carton
live storage racking with typical shelf levels
  • Available for front and rear uprights

13
Cantilevered Tilt Trays (Front Back)
  • Why having a cantilevered Tilt Tray at the Front?
  • Dimensional Reasons (Available Pick face)
  • Reduce the Pick height of the top level of
    CLS System
  • Cantilevered Tilt Tray allows to built additional
    equipment underneath (such as conveyor)
  • Why having a cantilevered Tilt Tray at the Back?
  • Protect the Rollers of CLS system in heavy duty
    environment

14
Divider Clips
  • Plastic Clips are not sufficient robust for heavy
    duty operations
  • Metal Clips have a longevity in cool and frozen
    environments
