Good Behavior
  • Respect peers, substitute teachers, guest
    speakers and me.
  • Respect includes speaking when you have been
    given the floor and not interrupting.
  • Listening to the person who has the floor.
  • No side talk
  • Raise your hand to have the floor

Leaving the classroom
  • Fill out your agenda and give it to me to sign.
  • Sign in and out in the leaving the classroom
    folder

Giving the teacher your attention
  • When you hear the bell ring or see my hand raised
    I need you to stop what you are doing and direct
    your attention to me.

  • Clean up your area.
  • Throw trash in the trashcan
  • NO GUM under the desk .
  • You may have water or fruit.

  • I will collect assignments. You will either turn
    in the assignment or turn in a homework recovery
    form.

  • Returned graded papers need to be placed in your
    folder .
  • Do not take it out of the room.

Absent work
  • Extra assignments will be in the baskets.
  • Test can be taken the next day during tutorials
    or in YALE.

  • Grading Policies for BHS Health Science
    Technology
  • Assessments
  • Two categories of assessments are taken in Health
    Science Technology.
  • Assessment For Learning(AFL), which primarily
    consists of daily work, quizzes and homework
  • 50 of students grade (minimum 6 assessments per
    six weeks)
  • Assessment of Learning(AOL), which consists of
    tests, projects, or other evaluative assignments
    that can aid the teacher in determining whether a
    skill or concept has been mastered.
  • 50 of students grade(minimum 2 assessments per
    six weeks)
  • Grades will be calculated in a manner that
    ensures that the students receives a fair
    reflection of what he or she knows and has
    demonstrated while emphasizing the most recent
    assessment information. Academic grades and work
    ethic grades shall be reported as two separate
    grades in the grade book, on progress reports,
    and on report cards.
  • Homework Recovery Program
  • If a student fails to turn in an assignment, the
    student is assigned to Homework Recovery
    Detention(HRD) to make-up the missed work.
  • A Homework Recovery form will be completed by
    student/teacher and turned in to the Homework
    Recovery Coordinator.
  • The Homework Recovery Coordinator will make a
    phone call to students parent informing the
    parent of the missing assignment.
  • A student who completes the assignment and turns
    it in prior to 800a.m. on the assigned HRD day
    will have his/her name removed from the detention
    list.
  • A student will be required to bring needed
    materials to HRD.
  • A students who fails to attend HRD will be
    assigned Friday Night Detention(Discipline
    referral). Failure to attend this detention will
    result in further discipline action.
  • Homework Recovery Detention
  • Time 400 600
  • Transportation is not provided.
  • Failed to turn in work on Homework Recovery
    Detention on
  • IPODS, Laptops, phones, etc will be taken up and
    given to the office. Remove all earplugs. Please
    do not have them out or on during class.

  • Please bring a sweater and dress warmly.

  • Watch TV ER, The learning channel, Grey anatomy,

  • Volunteer at the nursing home, hospital , non
    profit organizations.
