Conclusions
A large bore dipole is another option for an open
mid-plane design. The large bore is needed to
reduce and remove the heat load to the
coils. Nb3Sn technology can be applied today
towards a cosine-theta configuration of a 130mm
bore, high field (15T) dipole for a Dipole First
option.
