Software Engineering
The Option III - Software Engineering Program is
geared towards the working professional who is
currently employed in the field of software
engineering. The program allows employees in the
software industry to be on the competitive edge
of software development by providing them with
material that will give them an enhanced
perspective on design and analysis of software
systems and on the management of software
projects.

• One-day orientation with an evening banquet
• Eight Software Engineering courses
• Courses meet in the fall and spring semesters
• Students enroll in two courses per semester
• Completion of two independent research courses

Admission Requirements

• BS degree in Engineering, Computer Science,
  Natural Science, or a related field
• A minimum GPA of 3.0 in upper-division
  undergraduate
• and any graduate coursework
• Completion of the GRE test. Test scores may not
  be older then five years
• Three letters of recommendation one of which
  must be
• from your employer
• A minimum of 18 months industry experience
• Strong skills in programming languages such
• as C and Java

International Student Admission Requirements

• International applicants must
• - Be employed full-time in industry while in the
  program
• - Must be on a work Visa
• - Must meet all of the UT admissions criteria
• - Must submit all of the programs admissions
  materials to the department
• - Must have at least 18 months industry
  experience and
• - Must have a TOEFL score of 550 on paper test
  or 213 on the
• computer assisted test.
• - Scores may not be over two years old.
