PowerPoint and Teacher Training
Microsoft PowerPoint is a powerful electronic
presentation too that can be used to get
information across to your audience. Why Use
Electronic Presentations? It can give a visual
explanation of what you are trying to say. It
can be used to reinforce important information
It can be used to link complex ideas themes,
build up diagrams etc It can be used to
summarise information It can be used to give
further definition of information The following

you make best use of electronic presentations in
your teaching and learning episodes

Take time to click onto the tabs on the top tool
bar and explore options and functions
Most things can be done from the Insert menu
Left click on design to view design templates
Slide View options
However you use PowerPoint the process is the
same
Check out the toolbars to help with inserts
Decide on how you want your slide to look and
choose your option from the slide layout box

To resize an object, roll cursor over it and left
click, dots appear around it and when an active
size moving element (a white dot) is activated an
arrow icon appears and by holding the left mouse
button down and dragging the object will change
size and shape proportionally. The green dot
allows the object to be rotated. The yellow
diamond allows the object to be skewed If a
crossed arrow appears, then the object or box can
be moved around the slide if the left mouse
button is held down
