On the street
  • Go out, stay and return together
  • Plan where you want to go, how to get there, use
    well lit and busy routes
  • Never accept a lift from someone you dont know
  • If someone makes you feel uncomfortable walk away
    and find a safe place to go

  • If you feel threatened shout fire rather than
    help people are more likely to respond
  • If someone tries to take your property, stay calm
    throw the property at them and run to a safe
    place.
  • Dont carry a weapon, it is more likely to be
    used against you and you
  • You will be arrested and prosecuted

Mobile phones
  • Ensure parents/guardians can read and send texts
  • Store important nos, include police non emergency
    no 03456 043 043 or text 07786 200 814.
  • Charge battery and top up phone
  • Public phone dial 100 and reverse charges
  • Dont give out number to those you dont know or
    answer texts from unknown nos.

Keeping safe at home
  • Lock door behind you and take out keys
  • Dont answer door to anyone you dont know, ask
    for ID
  • Dont tell anyone who comes to the door that you
    are alone. If in doubt call the police
  • Dont give name and number when answering phone
  • Keep emergency numbers by phone

  • Be careful what you click on
  • Keep personal information safe and learn to block
    unknown chat/message
  • Dont post things you wouldnt want your parents
    or a stranger to see
  • Items posted on the net are public information
    and could cost you in future
  • People on line are not always what they appear.

  • Web cams can be handy and fun but can also be
    used in the wrong way

  • Laughing, name calling or emotional, physical
    bullying
  • Be happy and confident and show the bully they
    are not important
  • Tell a trusted adult or friend there is always
    a way to solve the problem

    shoplifting
  • Sentence up to 7 yrs for shoplifting
  • Conviction for later life and job prospects
  • Ensure doors are locked and valuables are hidden
  • Do the right thing talk them out of committing
    the crime

  • Entering other peoples property without

  • Not clearing up after your dog
  • Noise in the street or from a house

    differently and put yourself at risk
  • Drinking at an early age can cause serious short
    and long term health problems
