MY PURPOSE AND GOALS FOR TEACHING
  • I feel led to become a teacher, and becoming one
will fulfill one of my strongest passions.
  • As an educator, I hope to positively impact the
lives of my young students while encouraging them
to think independently and to effectively
    communicate with others.

3
THE EVOLUTION OF MY TEACHING PHILOSOPHY
  • Prior to coming to college, I had not given much
thought to the issue of how the learning process
occurs, and to how teachers effectively convey
similar ideas to a wide variety of learners.
  • However, after taking several courses here at
Auburn University, I have come to realize the
    various learning styles that individual's
possess, and the importance of incorporating many
different styles of teaching into ones classroom
in order to reach each and every child.

4
THEORIES AND LEARNING STYLES
  • I agree with both the Behaviorist Perspective and
the Cognitivist perspective furthermore, I feel
that a combination of the two is conducive to
    learning.
  • I believe that learning occurs as a response to
external, environmental stimuli, and it occurs
from children receiving both positive rewards and
    negative punishment
  • I also consider learning a mental operation that
is relatively complex, and it occurs through
    problem solving and research.

5
LEARNING STYLES
  • It will be challenging to teach in a way that
successfully reaches students of all levels and
    learning styles.
  • I hope to effectively teach students who
    dominantly learn linguistically, logically,
musically, spatially, and who learn through
    various other methods.
  • I plan to incorporate activities and tasks into
my lesson plans in order to accommodate and
    assist each type of learner.

6
SUMMARY
  • As an educator, I will strive to create an
environment in my classroom that accommodates a
variety of learners and allows for the students
to successfully learn and comprehend material.
  • I look forward to teaching, and I hope to
positively impact the lives of each and every
child and student that I work with.
