are setting up your account.

  class on their home accounts in case they have no
  other way to get to Sam Mail.

Important

• You must have Sam Mail activated to receive the
  Blackboard email.

No Email Forwarding!

• You may wish to forward the Blackboard email I
  send you to an off-campus email account. That
  will not be allowed! If you have your account
  forwarded to a hotmail or yahoo account, or any
  outside account, have it set up to the original
  Sam account. This is non-negotiable! You have to
  have an active Sam Mail account that is not
  cluttered with old emails to receive the
  Blackboard email.

Check your account often!

• If you have an old Sam Mail account, youll need
  to check it to make certain it is not cluttered
  with old email. One semester a student had over
  5,000 emails in their Sam Mail account which
  meant Blackboard could not deposit any of my
  emails into their account, so they did not
  receive vital pieces of information. Make sure
  you trash your old emails and empty the trash so
  the Sam S Drive is not cluttered!

Use your SHSU Email!

• If you dont receive several emails every week or
  more often, something is wrong. Contact me and
  lets get the problem solved! (lls_wjk_at_shsu.edu).

process on how to set up a Sam Email Account.

Open the Sam Houston State University Homepage
and go University Fast Links

Scroll down to Computer Account Creation and left
click

Left click on Account Creation

Put in your SSN with no dashes your birthday
for your Personal PIN and left click on Submit.
Just follow the instructions past that and you
are ready!

To access your active account just go to the SHSU
homepage and click on Sam Mail.

Enter your ID and password and click Login

When you are in, it will look like this

• Remember Always check your email on a daily
  basis!
• Basic Blackboard Instructions
• Go to http//www.shsu.edu
• Click on University Fast Links
• Go to Blackboard
• Log in your username and password
• Your username is your Student Number
• Your password is what you created. If you do not
  remember, you can go to the Computer Services on
  the SHSU Home Page, University Fast Links, and
  change your password by clicking on the
  left-side, Computer Account Info. Your PIN is
  your birth date.
• Be sure to read in the Syllabus how your Semester
  Grade is computed.
