• The sun is one of the largest stars in this
  galaxy.
• The sun is the closest to us. It is about
  93,000,000 miles away.
• When a star burns out, it becomes a black dwarf.

• It takes a star millions of years to completely

Comets

• Dirty Snowballs are a nickname for comets.
• When a comet crash into the Earth it makes a huge
  ditch.
• Comets are huge and they cause meteor showers.

Black Holes

• The sun is orbiting a black hole.
• Black holes suck up anything like space crafts,
  and objects would get shrunk if they were sucked
  up.
• Black holes are made up of nothingness.

• The word planet comes from the Greek word meaning
  wanderer.
• Nine planets orbit the sun, and each planets
  year is different.

Mercury

• Mercury is slightly bigger and its core is made
  out of iron.
• Mercury is 36 million miles away from the sun.
• During the night, Mercury is bitter cold because
  there is no atmosphere to keep the heat in.

• Venus rotates in the opposite direction of all
  the other planets.
• It is the brightest planet in the sky of Earth.
• Venus is the only planet that is yellow, and its
  clouds are made up of gas, and is 67 million
  miles from the sun.

• Mars has a very large canyon, which is the
  biggest canyon in the solar system. It is called
  Mariner Valley. It is 13 times longer that the
  Grand Canyon.
• Mars is 142 million miles from the sun.

• Jupiter is huge! It is over 1,000 Earth sizes
  large.
• It is the planet with the red spot.
• It has 16 moons and is 484 million miles away
  from the sun.
• Jupiter has 2 rings.

• Saturn is extremely windy, 10 times as fast as
  Earths hurricanes.
• Saturn is 887 million miles away from the sun.
• It has hundreds of rings around it.

• The Voyager 2 flew past Uranus in 1986.
• Is the third largest planet.
• It isabout 1.8 billion miles away from the sun.
• One rotation 17 Earth hours.

• It is about 2.8 billion miles away from the sun.
• Triton is about the size of the Earth.
• Voyager 2 visited Neptune in 1989.
• It rotates in about 16 Earth hours.

• It was discovered in 1930.
• One day in Pluto is 6 Earth days long.
• Pluto is the smallest planet.
