• Began as the Great Spring Show
• at Kensington in 1862
• Moved to the Royal Hospital in 1913
• The 2005 Show is the 83rd show on this site
• Held annually for 5 days in May
• The worlds greatest flower show

The 2005 Show..

• RHS begins planning 18 months in advance
• It takes 800 people 3.5 weeks to build the show
• The Great Pavilion covers nearly 12,000 sq m
• Showground covers 11 acres
• 157,000 visitors will attend the show
• 110,000 cups of tea/coffee will be served

Top tips on getting the most out of your day

• Arrive early to avoid peak crowds
• Buy a show catalogue to plan what you want to
  see
• Wear comfortable shoes!
• Bring a raincoat (umbrellas get in the way)
