The harpsichord is the cousin of the piano. The
harpsichord makes a rich sound, like a piano.
However, it is different from the piano. The
player cannot make the music loud or soft as
easily as on a piano. Loudness and softness make
the music more interesting. After pianos were
invented, harpsichords were nearly forgotten for
more than a century. Why were harpsichords
forgotten after the piano was invented?
