Definition

• Plastic surgery (Reconstructive Surgery) can be
  defined as an act to repair or reconstruct any
  natural damage that caused pain on the body of an
  individual or his soul.
• How far the surgery is allow in Islam?

• What are the guideline that need to be follow?

Abdullah reported that Allah had cursed those
women who tattoo and who have themselves
tattooed, those who pluck hair from their faces
and who have their facial hair plucked, and those
who make spaces between their teeth for
beautification changing what Allah
created.. (Sahih Muslim) Imam Nawawi
comment on this hadith If the surgery were
done as a form of treatment because of some
problem or deformity in the teeth (and other
parts) then there is nothing wrong with it. And
Allah knows best.

Examples

• Getting a treatment ( traditional or modern ) for
  extracted joint for broken bones
• Sewing and patching injuries at the bodies
• Treating burning skin , either using gel ,
  plastic or by taking any parts of the skin itself
• Remove excessive fingers
• Remove or treat the teeth that grow unnaturally
• Treatment crashed or damaged nose
• Reconstruct cleft palate

Condition

• There is no other way to be done except surgery
  as a cure in order to lift up the difficulties
  faced and to fulfill the requirement of the
  patient
• Must have the opinion of the specialist doctor
  that the operation will success and will not take
  any part of human body as a business
• There is no element of changing the original
  attribute either with enlarge, shrink, adding, or
  reducing the original body

Condition

• There is no element of lying and cheating.
  Therefore it is not necessary for old women to
  done it to look younger
• The operation will not bring any side effect such
  as lost of function of the body.
• The operation are not to change the nature sex of
  the somebody
