  • Adverbs describe/modify verbs.

EXAMPLES
  • Jose was quietly going out the door.
  • Glendale was torn down slowly.
  • Tony spoke slowly.
  • Katie jumped high.

Examples of adverbs and what they do
Extremely describes how grumpy David was.
David spoke extremely grumpy.
Easily describes how the runner finished the
race.
The runner easily finished first.
Jose, my oldest brother, drove slowly to his
girlfriends house.
Slowly describes how my brother drove the car.

Special Spelling Rules
