ASAA Level
  • At the Provincial Level, there are expectations
    of you to understand ASAA policy. Ignorance of
    policy is not an acceptable excuse for not
    adhering to it. Every year students are denied
    the chance to play because they were given the
    incorrect information by the Principal, Athletic
    Director or coach.

    Athletic Director

  • 1. Delegate some responsibilities to your coaches
  •  
  • 2. Prioritize
  • Determine the importance of each duty
  • Prioritize each duty and assignment according to
    its importance
  • Prioritize your family and health i.e. Do not
    neglect your family, but also remind them of your
    duties as A.D. Spend quality time with your

  • Have a good relationship with your principal
  • Keep the lines of communication open
  • Give admin team weekly schedules so they can
    attend games
  • Have a good relationship with your
    maintenance/custodial staff
  • Have a good relationship with your clerical staff

  • 4. Hold appreciation functions
  • for your coaches and volunteers at least once per
    year. Depending on the size of your
    school/program, this might be something you do at
    the end of each sport season. The little
    regular thank yous go a long way.
