    postdoctoral fellowships and five pre-doctoral
fellowships. The purpose of this program is to
    train promising pre-doctoral students and
    postdoctoral fellows in the experimental
    strategies and technologies necessary for
    developing new therapeutic approaches to
    cardiovascular disease

33
Quality Medical Education
  • Dr Clyburn,
  • I just wanted to write you to thank you for my
residency training. Now that I have been finished
for a year I think that I have some insight into
the residency program at MUSC.I have spent a year
at a program that is considered to be one of the
best in the country and have had numerous
interactions with the house staff there. I have
always felt very comfortable with the training I
received at MUSC, but to truly appreciate it, I
think that I had to leave and see how it was done
at other places. Now that I have, I can
absolutely say that clinically, I would put MUSC
residents against any residents in the country.
The breadth of experience at MUSC has served me
extremely well in my fellowship, and I have not
once felt lacking in any area of medical
knowledge or patient care. I think it is a
tribute to the residency leadership and the
faculty at MUSC, that I feel so comfortable after
I have left. I just felt that I should give
credit where credit is due, and also let you know
that you are training excellent physicians.
Thanks again for the great experience, and I hope
that the current residents realize how good they
    have it.
