Title: Archaebacteria

1
Archaebacteria
2
Prokaryotic or Eukaryotic???
3
Cell Structure
  • Archaebacteria are Prokaryotic. That means the
cells do not have a nucleus or membrane bound
    organelles.

4
Cells
  • All bacteria are unicellular. (That means one
    celled!)

5
Movement
  • Some bacteria cells dont move, but many,
especially archaebacteria, do have long tails
called flagella that help propel them through the
    water.

6
Nutrition
  • Archaebacteria are producers. That means they
can make their own food. They love extreme
environments like this hot spring in Yellowstone
    Park.

7
Reproduction
  • Archaebacteria cells undergo whats called binary
fission. Thats when the cell divides into two
    identical cells .

8
Types of Archaebacteria
  • There are 3 main types of archae- bacteria
Thermophils love heat, Chemophils love stuff like
methane and sulfur, and halophils , which love
    salty environments.
