Monroe Doctrine
  • - Latin American countries claimed independence
    from Spain.
  • -France offered to help Spain put down rebellions
    and take the countries back over
  • The USA made a declaration that WE would stay out
    of European affairs and wars if Europe stayed out
    of Western hemisphere affairs.
  • We also concluded that if Europe did not stay out
    of W. hemisphere affairs, it would be considered
    aggression against America
