  • Why did Jesus have to die for us?

How does the death of Jesus save us?
3
For there is one God, and one Mediator between
God and men, the Man Christ Jesus, Who gave
Himself A RANSOM FOR ALL, to be testified in
due time.
1 Timothy 25
4
The RANSOM is the means by which God could justly
release Adam (and all mankind) from the death
sentence of Eden.
5
I will RANSOM them from the power of the grave I
will redeem them from death
Hosea 1314
6
What does the word "RANSOM" mean?
7
The word RANSOM is translated from the Greek word
"Antilutron," meaning "an equivalent,
corresponding price."
8
This concept of the corresponding price is a
fixed law of Gods universe!
9
It is expressed in Israels Law Covenant "You
shall give LIFE for LIFE, eye for eye, tooth for
tooth" Exodus 2123-24
10
WHAT IS THE CORRESPONDING PRICE ?
11
A Perfect Life
12
A Perfect Life
JESUS
13
For A Perfect Life
14
For A Perfect Life
ADAM
15
This is Gods Scale of Perfect Justice
16
ADAM was a Perfect Man, with the right to live
forever, as long as he obeyed God.
JESUS was a Perfect Man. Not of Adamic descent,
born of a virgin by Gods power.
17
ADAM Sinned through disobedience
JESUS Obeyed God perfectly
18
ADAM was condemned to death. In the day that you
eat of it you will surely Die Genesis 217
Romans 623 Ezekiel 1843
19
JESUS had the right to live forever, because
obedient. "If a man be just, and do that which is
lawful and right he shall surely live, says the
Lord God." Ezekiel 185, 9 Deuteronomy 3016
20
All of Adams children (the entire human race)
inherit Adams sin and sentence of death.
Romans 512,17-18 1 Corinthians 1521-22
21
Adam and all mankind would be condemned to dying
and eternal death - unless another perfect man
offered to give his life as a ransom
(corresponding price) in Adams place.
22
Jesus gave up his own perfect human life to die
as a ransom in place of Adam, thereby releasing
the death sentence upon Adam and all his
posterity!
23
"For since by a man (Adam) came death
24
by a man (Jesus) came also the resurrection of
the dead." 1 Corinthians 1521 New American
Standard
25
JESUS RANSOM FOR ADAM SATISFIES JUSTICE 1
Corinthians 1522
26
It permits Adam and all mankind to be brought
back to life!
27
Justice or Just-us?
28
Justice or Just-us?
29
Justice or Just-us?
30
Gods justice does not mean "just-us."
31
Yet, many teach that only Christians will ever be
saved.
Christians Go Here
Everyone Else
32
If this is true, then most of the human race is
doomed to everlasting death
33
If this is true, then most of the human race is
doomed to everlasting death(or worse).
34
STOP and THINK for just a moment
35
Did Jesus die merely to save comparatively few
Christians?
36
The Bible tells us
NO!
37
Some of the following slides are quoted Bible
scriptures. Background images are omitted to help
you focus on Gods Word.
38
Christ died "the propitiation" (satisfaction)
for our (the Christians) sins and not for ours
only, but also for the sins of the whole
(presently unbelieving) world.1 John 22
39
Christ is the sacrifice that takes away our sins
(the Christians) and the sins of all the world's
people.1 John 22 Contemporary English
Version
40
And He that same Jesus Himself is the
propitiation (the atoning sacrifice) for our sins
(the Christians), and not for ours alone but also
for the sins of the whole world.1 John 22
Amplified
41
The Father lovingly provided His only-begotten
Son to die "for all" while all were still in sin.
John 316Romans 58
42
The perfect man Jesus died for Adams sin, taking
his place in death, thereby redeeming Adam AND
all his offspring-the human race-from death.
43
For Christ also has once died for sins the just
(Jesus) for the unjust (Adam), that he might
bring us to God. 1 Peter 318
44
By one man (Adam) sin entered into the world,
and death by sin and so death passed upon all
men. Therefore, as by the offense of one (Adam)
judgment came upon all men to condemnation even
so by the righteousness of one (Jesus) the free
gift came upon all men unto justification of
life.Romans 512,18
45
"THE RANSOMED OF THE LORD SHALL RETURN!"
AT THE RESURRECTION OF THE DEAD
46
"ALL that are in the graves shall hear" Jesus
voice, and will "come forth." John 528Revised
Standard Version
47
This "Resurrection of the dead" will be in two
parts
48
The Just
49
and The Unjust
Acts 2415
50
Do not marvel at this, for an hour is coming
when all who are in the tombs will hear his voice
and come out, those who have done good to the
resurrection of life, and those who have done
evil to the resurrection of judgment.John
528,29 English Standard Version
51
The "just" are Christs faithful followers
52
The unjust will have to learn righteousness by
merciful judgment and punishment according to
past guilt. Isaiah 269 Matthew 1627 Luke
1248 Micah 41-3
53
OR ELSEThey will go into the second death
(oblivion, ceasing to exist) from which there is
no escape.
He that overcometh shall not be hurt of the
second death. Revelation 211
54

our God! we will be glad and rejoice in His
Salvation!" Isaiah 259
55
