USSOCOM ISTP
  • USSOCOM J7/9 created the Individual and Staff
Training program (ISTP) to improve training for
    the Headquarters staff
  • The Command partnered with JKDDC to create a
training community of interest, build content
with ROCCE, and leverage the LMS to improve
    training management and delivery
  • ISTP includes Newcomers Training, all mandatory
training, and Directorate training. It will
further training outreach in the Command
  • ISTP will be the USSOCOM training system of
record when training records are transferred,
mandatory courses are built, and Training
    managers are trained

Phase II ISTP Goals
  • Transition current mandatory training (J6/SOCPED)
to the ISTP NIPR training portal by 1 Jun 10
  • Personnel need a JKO account to access this
    training
  • Personal data remains on SOCPED training records
    transferred
  • Transition current Newcomers Orientation (SJS
lead) to Newcomers Training Program (J7/9 lead)
    by 1 Jun 10
  • Working with JSOU to improve a curriculum for
    Newcomers training

  • Directorates have their own training space on the
    training community of interest
  • Directorate participation and training
Directorate reps helps decentralize training in
    the HQ

Newcomers Training on the portal, and make
    improvements
  • Mandatory/annual training courses built and
