  • If student is absent, it is their responsibility
    to make sure the notebook is updated.

  • Fewer multiple choice
  • Increase in open-ended and student constructed
    responses
  • Increase rigor of response expectations

Milestone
  • Georgias new yearly assessment that takes the
    place of the CRCT.
  • Students will be expected to construct responses
    and justify their reasoning.

Attendance Policy
  • Unexcused absences carry a penalty which includes
    signing an attendance contract to having as
    social worker visit.
  • Provide a note, email, or phone call in regard to
    their childs absence each time they are out.
  • Excused lawful absences are sick, funerals,
    religious holidays, death in family.
  • All other absences are (vacation, visiting out of
    town, missed the bus, car wouldnt start.etc.)
    are deemed unexcused.
  • Over 6 absences effects our CCRPI score
    negatively.

Attendance
  • All notes should be sent in within 3 day of an
    absence
  • 1 absence your child will receive a sticker in
    the agenda reminding you to send in a note if one
    is not provided upon students return to school
  • 2 absences you will receive a phone call from
    your childs teacher if a note is not provided
    upon students return to school
  • 3-4 absences (excused or unexcused) you will
    receive a phone call from and administrator or a
    counselor for an attendance check

Attendance
  • 5 absences the school will schedule an attendance
    meeting with you to discuss your childs
    attendance
  • 6 absences (unexcused) by state law, a letter
    from the county will go home regarding attendance
    and reviewing state mandates related to
    attendance.

Classroom Management
  • Fourth grade is using Class Dojo, an online
    way of tracking student behavior this is
    our version of the Positive Behavior
    Interventions and Support
  • See your students homeroom teacher for log-in
    information
  • Students will also have the opportunity to earn
    Comet Cash.
  • The school is using a discipline sheet.
