    write in Social Studies/Language Arts, as well as
    other subject areas.

Accelerated Reader-AR
  • All 5th Grade students will be participating in
    the AR program this year.
  • AR consists of reading books and taking short
    comprehension tests on the computer.
  • Each month we will conference individually with
    students to update their AR Goal.
  • We would like students reading at their just
    right book level and to achieve 80 or higher on
    tests.
  • Your child can test on books read aloud by a
    parent or teacher to help them attain their goals.

Goals
  • Typically 10 AR points per month
  • 100/year
  • 20 minutes of reading each night
  • Students reaching their AR goal will be able to
    attend the Reading Party in February.
  • Anyone with 100 points by June 1 may participate
    in an Ice Cream Sundae Party!
