NMPLs Writers Group
We regret to announce that the NMPLs Writers
group has been discontinued.

Evening Book Discussion August 31 at 630 PM
Abby Ripley, a New Milford resident, has
graciously agreed to be the facilitator of this
group and has come up with a terrific list of
books. The book for September is Midnights
Children by Salman Rushdie and the library will
provide the books. The group is limited to 10
people, so please call 860-355-1191 x201 to sign
up.

Pet AdoptionSeptember 2 at 630 PM
Hoping to find your forever pet? Come to our
workshop first. Cassandra LaCava, DVM, will go
over what you need to consider before adopting.
Bring your questions! Dr. LaCava will offer two
free raffle prizes (one for cat owners and one
for dogs!!) Registration is requested by calling

Make Em LaughSeptember 3 at 600 PM
A new movie series, Make Em Laugh Classic
American Comedies. The series of 10 movies
ranges from 1925 to 1993. All movies in the
series will be shown on the first Thursday of
each month, at 600 p.m. in Memorial Hall. Each
free program will still include refreshments,
film notes and a post-screening discussion.
Tonight's movie is "Gold Rush" (1925) starring
Charlie Chaplin.

SCORE Great Web SitesSeptember 10 at 800 AM
Business professionals who are volunteers from
SCORE will be conducting a series of workshops.
Today's program is The Keys To A Great Website.
Learn the dos and donts of creating a website
that gets found on the search engines, attracts
prospects and turns them into customers. Please

Monday Movies at NMPL September 14 at 100 PM
Come view foreign films and discuss them. This
month in this free series we will feature The
Nun The film is in French with English
subtitles. It is not rated and runs 114 minutes.
Light refreshments and a discussion will follow
the presentation.

Learn About MedicareSeptember 16 at 630 PM
Margaret Ackley, a local Health Insurance
representative will present a valuable program on
Medicare health plan options. Come learn what
you need to know, the different parts of the
program, eligibility requirements, and answers to
questions about your coverage options. Each
attendee will receive a copy of Medicare

Memorial Hall
This is our monthly series where we host a
mystery book discussion group. This month's
book is Before the Poison by Peter Robinson.

group. All book choices are drawn from award
winners. The group meets the third (3rd) Monday
of the month in the Connecticut Room. The
library will provide the books. The group is

Meet Franz Douskey author of Sinatra and Me The
Very Good Years at 1030 AM at the Senior Center
as NMPL and The Senior Center are pleased to
offer a colorful presentation on Franzs
experiences working with Tony Consiglio, Frank
Sinatras close friend. Registration is requested

Join us to enjoy our monthly series of popular,
first run movies which lend themselves to lively
discussion. Tonight's we present Kenneth
Branagh's adaptation of the Disney film,
"Cinderella. The film is rated PG and runs 105
minutes. Bring a sandwich, we'll provide dessert
coffee.
