  • 12 member Board of Directors / 4 Staff
  • Over 40 volunteer Instructors
  • Limited number are bilingual
  • Over 25 Host Partner Organizations
  • In-kind support provided by the
    Travis County Extension Service
    (part of Texas AM AgriLife Extension Service)

What We Do
  • Provide free basic financial education classes in
    English and Spanish to Host Partner organizations
    in the Austin area
  • Provide one class on a particular topic, or a
    full series depending on the needs of the
    organization
  • Focus is on low-income adults and youth
  • Use nationally recognized financial literacy
    curriculums

Who We Recruit
  • Volunteer Instructors
  • Individuals complete a 9-hour Train-the-Trainer
    course
  • We provide instructors a path to become
    Certified
  • We select individuals who have a financial acuity
  • Host Partners
  • Organizations that desire FLCCT to provide
    financial education classes to their constituents
    and/or staff
  • Partners organize the class of participants
  • Partners provide the classroom location

Who We Recruit
  • Educational Partners
  • - FLCCT also provides Train-the-Trainer
    instruction designed to meet the needs of
    other organizations such that their staff can
    instruct their own constituents

How We Educate
  • Scheduling of Classes
  • Host Partner determines class location, date,
    time, and curriculum
  • FLCCT assigns a qualified instructor to teach the
    class and provide all instructional materials
  • In 2012, FLCCT instructed 1,462 individuals via
    159 classes (on average - 13 classes 122
    students/month)
  • Class Delivery
  • Instructor conducts interactive instruction
  • Instructor administers individual pre /
    post-quizs
  • Participants each complete a course critique and
    instructor critique
