Title: Requirement, goals and constraints for LightFair 2001

1
Requirement, goals and constraints for LightFair
2001
  • The essential requirements, goals, and
    constraints include
  • The space is 10 feet square, with two sides and a
    back.
  • The front 5 feet of the side walls must not
    exceed 4 feet in height
  • There are no structural components existing in
the exhibit space (the exhibit must be
    freestanding)
  • The display must show off the lamp's flexibility
for effective use in different environments
    (office reading, office conference, office
computer work, hospitality, home office desk
lamp, general ambient lighting lamp, etc.)
  • The display must show off the lamp's high light
quality (no glare, good spatial variability and
distribution, good color, high light output)
  • The display should show off the lamp's energy
    efficiency.
  • The show is the end of May and the exhibit should
be ready for shipment the middle of May.
  • The display should elicit responses of "hey,
    that's cool".
  • The display must be set up so that 2 to 3 people
    can man it effectively.
  • The display must be broken down to be shipped in
    crates.
  • The display must cost less than 5000

2
The Basic Floorplan
  • The essential features of the design are
  • Two different environments an office environment
    and a hospitality environment
  • Each environment is a unique lighting example
  • Both environments are roofed to control the
    lighting in the space
