• Our famous author Mr.Roald Dahl was born in
  Llandaff Wales, September 13, 1916.
• His mom and dads names were Harald Dahl and
  Sofie Magedalene.

• His father Harald Dahl was an owner of a ship
  broking business.
• His family was a Norwegian family.
• His father married a young French girl.

• When Roald Dahl was only three years old his
  seven year old sister died of sickness.
• About a month later his father died at the age
  of 57.
• The family had to sell their jewelry to keep
  Roald Dahl in school.

How did he become an author?

• After he served a term in the air force he
  returned home.
• He was sent to Washington D.C to get an
  interview.
• He had to send notes to an interviewer, which
  ended up becoming a story. He called it A Piece
  of Cake.
• His very first book was Shot Down Over Libya.

  November 23 1990 at the old age of 74. His cause
  for his very sad death was of a very rare blood
  disease

• When he was a full grown adult his height
  reached 6.6 feet!
• Later on though he developed an interest in
  photography.
