Grading Policy
  • Standard for ACP and Hamilton Prep Math
  • Homework is corrected, but not graded
  • Standards checks are taken directly from the
  • Grades are based on mastery of the curriculum
  • 75 Tests and Quizzes
  • 15 Standards Checks
  • 10 Projects, class work
  • No retakes of tests or quizzes
  • Students may retake one standards check in each
    4½ week period (before the mid-quarter or
    end-of-quarter assessment)

Semester Grades
  • There will be a final exam each semester for all
  • We will be on an early release final exam
    schedule similar to the high schools (more
    details closer to the time)
  • Semester grades are weighted as follows
  • 40 quarter 1 grade
  • 40 quarter 2 grade
  • 20 final exam grade

Typical Day
  • Warm up
  • Go over homework
  • Math lesson
  • Direct instruction
  • Group practice -teacher circulating
  • Hands-on activity or game if possible
  • Ticket out the door when appropriate

  • Formative (informal)
  • Frequent checks in class
  • Warm-up check for specific skills
