may be safe

Update on Blood Lead Levels in Children
  • Until recently, BLL of concern when test result
    gt 10 micrograms per deciliter may not have been
    reported to parents
  • New Level based on the U.S. population of
    children ages 1-5 years who are in the top 2.5
    of children when tested for lead in their blood
  • New, lower value means that more children likely
    will be identified as having lead exposure
    opportunity to take action earlier to reduce the
    childs future exposure to lead
  • No change in the recommendation for when to use
    medical treatment for children.

    disturb lead-based paint

  • WHERE Child-occupied facilities (e.g. homes,

    Specific Work Practices to prevent lead
    contamination including
  • Contain the work area
  • Minimize dust
  • Clean up thoroughly
