I. Old English (500-1000 AD) A. Originally a
Celtic language. The Celts were subject to the
Romans from 50-450 AD 1st Latin influence. B.
When Angles and Saxons invaded in 450 AD, their
Germanic languages mixed to from Old English.

    powerful people from France, attacked and
    conquered the Anglo-Saxons in Britain.

    words (Latin derived), and the pronunciation of
