  impose his or her ideas on others, forcing them
  to change or take action against their will)

• Characteristics of voice pitch, tone, volume,

Pitch highness or lowness of sound on a musical
scale

• High stress, fear, tension, excitement,
  frustration, uncertainty, fatigue, youth,
  uncertainty, low energy
• Medium calmness and confidence
• Low (rich, deep) sadness, uncertainty,
  tenderness, concern
• -can lull listeners to sleep

• Inflection rising and falling of pitch that adds
  variety to speaking
• Volume use listeners feedback to adjust
• Tone specific vocal quality (rich, mellow)

• - rate refers to how fast or slow speaks
• - tempo rhythmic quality of a persons speech
