BioBricks, Safety, and Regional Conference
  • The best way for us to order biobricks in the
off-season is to register as a lab with the iGEM
    organization. The information is on
unt/Academic_labs and we would need to go through
a PI. This would also give us more credibility
    when applying for grants.
  • To make sure we comply with any safety
regulations on campus we need to have a faculty
advisor who is registered for recombinant DNA
work. I would assume that we have this covered
  • Also, each team is expected to send an advisor to
the Regional Conference which is sometime in May
or June. Should we consider hosting this
conference this year or in coming years? Jennifer
Quirk has confirmed that the IGB could host. Two
advisors are interested, please let me know what
you think so we can look into it further or not.
