  • The present invention is process of
    deoxygenating, desulfurizing and controlling
    non-metal inclusion content in steel, and belongs
    to the field of steel making production
    technology. The process includes desulfurizing
    molten iron to S content of 0.003-0.006 wt
    smelting in a converter to reach CaO/SiO2
    alkalinity of 4-7 and P content of 0.003-0.01
    wt, and tapping while blocking slag strictly and
    adding Al in 0.09-0.2 wt adding high alkalinity
    slag 0.4-1 wt and Al 0.04-0.12 wt into molten
    steel in a LF furnace while blowing Ar and
    stirring adding Al to reach acid soluble Al
    content in molten steel of 0.030-0.070 wt
    vacuum treatment at 30-300 Pa for 15-30 min and
    protected continuous casting. The present
    invention is suitable for producing high strength
    structural alloy steel, high strength carbon
    steel, low alloy steel and other special steel.

Conversion of hydrocarbons to H2 and one or more
carbon oxides is carried out with steam and/or
oxygen in the presence of a spinel-phase cryst.
catalyst contg. Ni, Mg, Al, and a lanthanide
element, esp. lanthanum.  The catalyst compn. is
esp. Ni 15-35, Al (as Al2O3) 20-80, La (as La2O3)
gt0.1, and Mg (as MgO) gt5 wt., in which the Ni is
present as reduced Ni metal (Ni0).  Suitable
steam reforming catalysts are prepd. by pptg. the
active metal precursors and metal components
(including the support) from an aq. soln. or
suspension and heating the sepd. ppt. in an
oxygen-contg. atm. to a temp. for crystal phase.
 Suitable pptg. agents include NH3, ammonium
hydroxide, ammonium carbonate, alkali metal
hydroxides or carbonates, and alk. earth
hydroxides and carbonates.  Addnl. active metals
include Ru, Pt, Pd, Rh, Re, and Ir suitable
supports in addn. to Al2O3, can also includes
silica, zirconia and alk. earth oxides.
