Objective
  • I have noted the change in name of the Ministry
    to Human Settlements.
  • My intention today is to present
  • two main areas of concern that
  • I believe are relevant and may
  • contribute to the focus on
  • human settlements
  • rather than simply housing.

  • Community involvement can be encouraged with

  • Skills can be developed - D Higher Education
  • Can create sustainable jobs - D Economic
    Development
  • Provide incentives to involve employers in
  • public private partnerships, and
  • Tax incentives for small private employers for
    employee housing

  • Minister of Human Settlements has the ability to
    rally people of good will to the cause
  • We need to make human settlements
  • everybodys business
