PAEMST Eligibility

• Bachelors degree
• Full-time employees w/ at least 50 teaching
• 5 years teaching prior to this academic year
• K-12 math/science teacher
• Not a past PAEMST winner

• Self-nominated or nominated by others
• Invitation to start the application process

Two-Tiered Review Process

• State level
• KS selects up to three finalists per content
  area
• National level
• Up to two finalists from KS
• FBI background check

• Teacher Information Form (online)
• Employment Verification Form
• Three letters of recommendation
• From parents, colleagues, administrators,

• Positive impact on student learning in
  math/science
• One must be from school/district official
• Signed and dated
• Resume (two-page limit)

• Two parts
• Written response

• Topic selection based on three criteria
• Challenging topic for students
• In the standards at that grade level
• Builds to future learning

• 1 lesson 1 class
• Continuous and Unedited
• Maximum 45 minutes
• Reflections woven into narrative with timestamps
