Typical Day in Math

    several examples.
  • Whiteboard practice (if applicable time allows)
  • Independent practice in book (this is the time
that I can work with small groups and/or
individuals who need extra support and answer
    questions.)
  • If there is enough time at the end, I will let
students start their homework with the remaining
    time.

7
Homework in Math
  • Students should expect to have homework just
    about every night for math.
  • Homework will usually consist of a page from the
    practice workbook (front and back).
  • Homework is due the following day at the
    beginning of class.
  • Students correct their homework and have the
opportunity to ask questions if there were
    problems that they didnt understand.
  • Students will keep all of their math papers in
their folder. Periodically I will have students
    empty folders into their portfolios.

8
Tutoring
  • If your child needs tutoring, you can email me to
    set up appointments.
  • The only exception would be if I had a meeting
that morning, but generally I will be available.

9
Sixth Grade Email Policy
  • We love when students use technology, especially
when they are trying to get help. We will respond
to student emails as long as the parents are CCd
    on the original email.
  • We want to make sure parents are aware that their
students needed help, and we also want parents to
be kept in the loop with teacher response.
