There has to be a sense that manufacturing
offers a good, attractive, career opportunity
through skill training for school leavers and for
graduates. Partly this is about capturing the
imagination of what it will be like in the
industries of the future. It is also about
communicating that average salaries are
comparable to those in the legal or financial

You are the face of the future of our subject
without your passion, you lobbying your SLT, your
governors, your local press, your MP we are a
dead subject

Learning Outcomes
  • By the end of the session, course delegates will
    -
  • Have designed
  • a rear bike light for a mountain bike
    (beginners)
  • a SOS whistle with some LED features (advanced)
  • have designed a circuit board using PICs
  • have an understanding of some of the features of
    CAD software
  • Design a CAD housing for the product
  • Produced .stl files for 3D printing
