    Cambyses, Darius I, and Xerxes
  • Xerxes confronted Greece
  • Daniel 8 discusses what happens when Greece wins
out over Persia and the division of Alexander the
    Greats Empire
  • Ptolemy I of Egypt is the king of the South
  • Seleucius I of Syria is the king of the North

11
Battle of Armageddon
  • These kings struggle (Daniel 111-1213)
  • North Antiochus IV (Antiochus Epiphanies)
    persecuted Israel
  • Premillennialists make an unwarranted break
    (1135), and postpone the rest
  • Best position is to allow it all to refer to the
time of the Maccabean revolt against the cruelty
    of Antiochus Epiphanies
  • Keep Revelation 16-19 in the proper time frame
    (Revelation 11)

12
Binding of Satan
  • It is said to occur when millennium begins
  • Loosed toward end for a little season
  • Cast into the lake of fire (Revelation 201, 2)

  • No more demons (Zechariah 1210 131-9)
  • No world wide persecuting agent since Rome

13
The Millennium
Revelation 201-7
14
Premillennial View of Millennium
  • By definition it is 1,000 years
  • Proof text is Revelation 201-7
  • Is that what John was talking about in this text?

15
Premillennial View of Millennium
  • Foretold by the prophets
  • Jesus on an earthly throne
  • Israel to receive all that was promised
  • Time of unprecedented peace
  • Battle of Gog and Magog (Ezekiel 38,
    39)
  • Great White Throne Judgment

16
Figurative
  • Indicates completeness (Psalm 5010
    Deuteronomy 79)
  • Are the other things in Revelation 201-7 to be
    taken literally?
  • Living ends when the reigning ends
  • Not a thousand year reign of Christ, but a
    living and reigning with Christ

17
Objections
  • Earth not mentioned
  • Christ is reigning now
    (Daniel 713, 14 Acts 229-36)
  • He cannot rule on earth
    (Jeremiah 2228-30 Matthew 111)

18
More Objections
  • He cannot be a priest on the earth (Hebrews 414
    84)
  • He said His kingdom was spiritual (John
    1836, 37)

19
The Importance of Israelin Gods Scheme
  • The eternal aspects of this covenant, which
guarantee Israel a permanent national existence,
perpetual title to the land of promise, and the
certainty of material and spiritual blessing
through Christ, and guarantee Gentile nations a
share in these blessings, determine the whole
eschatological program of the Word of God. ...

The Importance of Israelin Gods Scheme
  • Since the Abrahamic covenant deals with Israels
title deed to the land of Palestine, her
continuation as a nation to possess that land,
and her redemption so that she may enjoy the
blessings in the land under her King, it is of
utmost importance to determine the method of the
fulfillment of this covenant. If it is a literal
covenant to be fulfilled literally, then Israel
must be preserved, converted and restored.

The Importance of Modern Israel
  • The one event which many Bible students in the
past overlooked was this paramount prophetic
sign Israel had to be a nation again in the
land of its forefathers. Israel a nationa dream
for so many years, made a reality on 14 May 1948
when David Ben-Gurion read the Declaration of
Independence announcing the establishment of a
Jewish nation to be known as the State of Israel.
In 1949, Prime Minister Ben-Gurion said that
Israels policy consists of bringing all Jews to
Israel we are still at the beginning.
