  • Men in the South and in Gujarat, Punjab, Delhi,
    Sikkim, and Mizoram are more likely to be
    informed about the importance of delivery at a
    health facility
  • Main reason men with a child under three years
    give for their childs mother not getting ANC is
    that it is not necessary or they do not allow it
  • Main reason men with a child under 3 years for
    their childs mother not delivering in a health
    facility is that it is not customary

Conclusions
  • Mens participation in maternal health care needs
    to be strengthened
  • The information provided to men who participate
    in ANC visits is inadequate and needs to be more
    comprehensive
