Consumer Protections (2010)
  • Provides affordable coverage to Americans without
    insurance due to pre-existing conditions (PCIP).
  • Provides much-needed financial relief for
    employers so early retirees (55-64 years old) can
    get quality, affordable insurance.
  • Helps consumers take control of their health care
    by connecting them to new information and
    resources (HealthCare.gov and CuidadodeSalud.gov).
  • No pre-existing condition exclusions for children
    under age 19.
  • Prohibits insurance companies from dropping
    coverage in absence of fraud.

Consumer Protections (2010)
  • Extends dependent coverage to young adults up to
    age 26.
  • Eliminates lifetime limits and restricts annual
    limits on insurance coverage.
  • Strengthens review of insurers premium
    increases.
  • Removes insurance company barriers between you
    and your doctor.
  • Ensures getting the most from your premium
    dollars and limits spending on overhead and
    salaries/bonuses.
  • Provides a one-time, tax free 250 rebate from
    Medicare to help pay for prescription drugs en
    route to total elimination of the Donut Hole.
