Problem

• Data is scattered or unavailable
• On many sites or science-in-a-box
• Especially when dealing with complex,
  interdisciplinary, and multi-agency projects
• Sites come and go
• What happens to data?
• Who is responsible for the data?
• Some projects do not have sufficient time or
  resources to manage own data
• Difficult to do science and manage data at same
  time

• Purpose of EDEN hydrologic data is provide
  consistent, documented hydrologic data at a scale
  used by biologists and ecologists.
• Instead of the biologists and ecologists doing
  the hydrology, EDEN provides the hydrologic data
  and lets the scientists do what they do best.
