Mishna Talmud, Mishna Yeshua
  • So now that we understand that the Gospels are
Yeshuas Mishna, we can do some comparisons.

11
12
Mishna Talmud, Mishna Yeshua
  • So were going to look at some of the teachings
of the Mishna and well see what they look like
    compared to Yeshuas teachings.

12
13
Mishna Talmud, Mishna Yeshua
  • Some of these teachings were after the time of
    Yeshua some were before.

13
14
Mishna Talmud, Mishna Yeshua
  • But its a win/win because it means either Yeshua
was quoting them or they were quoting Yeshua.
  • None the less, well see what they have in common.

14
15
Mishna Talmud, Mishna Yeshua
  • We also want to keep in mind that these teachings
and sayings come from the Hebrew rather then from
the Greek as do our New Testament passages.

  • Rabbi Jonathan ben Joseph said For the Sabbath
is holy unto you. It is committed to your hands,
not you to its hands. - Talmud Yoma 85b

The Sabbath was made for man, not man for the

  • One who gazes lustfully upon the small finger of
a married woman, it is as if he has committed

with her already in his heart. - Matthew 528

greater than the day of the Revival of the
Dead, for the Revival of the Dead is for the
righteous only whereas rain is both for the
righteous and for the wicked - Talmud Taanit 7a

That ye may be the children of your Father which
is in heaven for he maketh his sun to rise on
the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the
just and on the unjust. - Matthew 545

  • In the case of the recital of the Shema, since
everybody else recites, and he also recites, it
does not look like showing off on his part but
in the case of the month of Ab, since everybody
else does work and he does no work, it looks like
    showing off.- Talmud Berachot 17b

Take heed that ye do not your alms before men, to
be seen of them otherwise ye have no reward of
your Father which is in heaven. - Matthew 61

  • What kind of charity is that which delivers a man
from an unnatural death?  When a man gives
without knowing to whom he gives. and the beggar
receives without knowing from whom he receives. -
    Talmud Bava Batra 10a - 10b

  • If one draws out his prayer and expects therefore
its fulfilment, he will in the end suffer
vexation of heart, as it says, Hope deferred
maketh the heart sick. - Talmud Berachot 55a

the heathen do for they think that they shall be

  • Come and hear what was taught Rabbi Tarfon said,
If his hand touched the membrum let his hand be
cut off upon his belly. But, they said to him,
would not his belly be split? It is
preferable, he replied, that his belly shall be
split rather than that he should go down into the
pit of destruction. - Talmud Niddah 13b

And if thy right eye offend thee, pluck it out,
and cast it from thee for it is profitable for
thee that one of thy members should perish, and
not that thy whole body should be cast into
hell.  And if thy right hand offend thee, cut it
off, and cast it from thee for it is profitable
for thee that one of thy members should perish,
and not that thy whole body should be cast into
hell. - Matthew 529-30

scholars engaged thereon I.e., in calculating
the time of the Messiah's coming, would say to
them I beg of you, do not postpone it, for it
has been taught Three come unawares Messiah, a

  • They who are insulted but insult not back who
hear themselves reproached but answer not who
serve out of love and rejoice in their
affliction--of them it is written in Scripture
They that love God are as the going forth of the
sun in its might. - Talmud Yoma 23a, Gitin 36b,
    Shabat 88b

Ye have heard that it hath been said, Thou shalt
love thy neighbour, and hate thine enemy.  But I
say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that
curse you, do good to them that hate you, and
pray for them which despitefully use you, and
persecute you - Matthew 543

  • If a man said, "I will sin and repent, and sin
again and repent", he will be given no chance to
repent.   If he said, "I will sin and the Day
of Atonement will effect atonement", then the Day
of Atonement effects no atonement.   For
transgressions that are between man and God the
Day of Atonement effects atonement, but for
transgressions that are between a man and his
fellow the Day of Atonement effects atonement
only if he has appeased his fellow - Mishnah
    Yoma 89

Therefore if thou bring thy gift to the altar,
and there rememberest that thy brother hath aught
against thee Leave there thy gift before the
altar, and go thy way first be reconciled to thy
brother, and then come and offer thy gift. -
Matthew 523-24

Mishna Talmud, Mishna Yeshua
  • So as you can see, the Pharisees and Yeshua
    taught along very similar lines.
  • It is a shame when Christians berate the
Pharisees because simultaneously they berate our
    L-rd.

32
33
Mishna Talmud, Mishna Yeshua
  • Back to the teachings of the Pharisees.
  • The Book of Macabees says this about the
    Pharisees

33
34
Mishna Talmud, Mishna Yeshua
  • The Pharisees wished to embrace the whole people,
and in particular through education. It was their
desire and intention that everyone in Israel
achieve holiness through the study of
    Torah . . . (p. 93, The Maccabees)

34
35
Mishna Talmud, Mishna Yeshua
  • The vast majority of the people loved and
respected the Pharisees, but as with any group
there were some who were in the party who were
    not Pharisaic at heart.

35
36
Mishna Talmud, Mishna Yeshua
  • And the Pharisees knew that element was plaguing
them and it was written about saying
  • Fear not the Pharisees even the non-Pharisees,
but the hypocrites who ape the Pharisees (Sotah
    22b)

36
37
Mishna Talmud, Mishna Yeshua
  • Not only that, the Pharisees themselves listed 7
kinds of Pharisees and 6 out of 7 of them were
    not good.

37
38
Mishna Talmud, Mishna Yeshua
  • Again you have to remember this is
    inter-Pharisaic dialogue.
  • Just like the New Testament is inter-Judaic
    dialogue.

38
39
Mishna Talmud, Mishna Yeshua
  • If you dont understand that, you miss the entire
    point.
  • Yeshua could talk negatively about the Pharisees
    because He was one.

39
40
Mishna Talmud, Mishna Yeshua
  • Likewise other Pharisees could talk about other
Pharisees because they didnt like some of what
    they saw.

40
41
Mishna Talmud, Mishna Yeshua
  • I get very angry when I hear about corrupt
    Republicans.
  • I could write a small book on everything wrong
with the Republican party even though I AM a
    Republican.

41
42
Mishna Talmud, Mishna Yeshua
  • We criticize ourselves because we want things to
be kept honest and we want to be honest about
    ourselves.
  • Likewise with the Pharisees and heres what they
saw and despised about their own party

42
43
Mishna Talmud, Mishna Yeshua
  • They said there were 7 kinds of Pharisees

43
44
Mishna Talmud, Mishna Yeshua
  • The Shoulder Pharisee This type of Pharisee was
one who wore his good deeds on his shoulder on
display for all men to see. By showing all his
good deeds it would put pressure on others to be
    as holy as he was.
  • Yeshua opens his primary criticism of
Pharisees in Matthew, with the mention of the
shoulder a reference to this commonly-labeled
    type of Pharisee

44
45
Mishna Talmud, Mishna Yeshua
  1. They tie up heavy loads and put them on mens
shoulders, but they themselves are not willing to
lift a finger to move them. (Matthew 234)

45
46
Mishna Talmud, Mishna Yeshua
  • 2. The Wait-a-little Pharisee This type of
Pharisee would want to wait to see how a
situation played out before acting in any matter.
While he agreed with Pharisee theology, he would
always fall short in practice of his belief
because he wasnt sure if he should/could/wanted
to act. This type of Pharisee liked the prestige
brought about by being a religious leader, but
didnt like what it actually required.

46
47
Mishna Talmud, Mishna Yeshua
  • 2. Yeshua spoke of these kinds of Pharisees as
well in Matthew 235-7 Everything they do is
done for men to see They make their phylacteries
wide and the tassels on their garments long they
love the place of honor at banquets and the most
important seats in the synagogues they love to
be greeted in the marketplaces and to have men
    call them Rabbi.

47
48
Mishna Talmud, Mishna Yeshua
  • 3. The Bruised or Blind Pharisee This type of
Pharisee was typified by the idea of him walking
with his head down or from turning away quickly
to avoid looking at a woman so no one would think
they were lusting after her. So, because they
werent looking where they were going, they would
end up bruised or bleeding from their avoidance
of looking at a woman all the while forgetting
the more important laws. Yeshua speaks of some
Pharisees as blind guides referring to this
    type of Pharisee.

48
49
Mishna Talmud, Mishna Yeshua
  • 3. Matt. 2323 Woe to you, teachers of the law
and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You give a tenth
of your spices of mint, dill and cumin. But you
have neglected the more important matters of the
laws like justice, mercy and faithfulness. You
should have practiced the latter, without
neglecting the former. You blind guides! You
strain out a gnat but swallow a camel.

49
50
Mishna Talmud, Mishna Yeshua
  • The Hump-backed Pharisee
  • This kind of Pharisee would walk hunched
over in order to show that he was a very humble
man. He would bend over and slouch his back
walking this way all day so all could see his
humility. On the outside it looked like they were
humble, but on the inside they were white washed
    tombs.

50
51
Mishna Talmud, Mishna Yeshua
  1. (Matthew 2327-28) Woe to you, teachers of the
law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You are like
whitewashed tombs, which look beautiful on the
outside but on the inside are full of dead mens
bones and everything unclean. In the same way, on
the outside you appear to people as righteous but
on the inside you are full of hypocrisy and
    wickedness.

51
52
Mishna Talmud, Mishna Yeshua
  • 5. The Ever-Reckoning Pharisee
  • This was the Pharisee who was always
keeping score trying to make sure that his good
deeds always outnumbered his bad ones. Youd find
them decorating the tombs of the prophets for
    extra merit.

52
53
Mishna Talmud, Mishna Yeshua
  • 5. Woe to you, teachers of the law and
Pharisees, you hypocrites! You build tombs for
the prophets and decorate the graves of the
righteous. And you say, If we had lived in the
days of our forefathers, we would not have taken
part with them in shedding the blood of the
prophets. So you testify against yourselves that
you are the descendants of those who murdered the
prophets. Fill up, then, the measure of the sin
    of your forefathers! (Matthew 2329-32)

53
54
Mishna Talmud, Mishna Yeshua
  1. The Timid Pharisee   While he had great
reverence and respect for God, it was out of fear
of his fellow Pharisees. Unlike the previous
types of Pharisees, both his belief and practice
were correct, but his motivation was out of sync
    with his faith.

54
55
Mishna Talmud, Mishna Yeshua
  • Yeshua spoke against the fear of man and said all
things will be revealed. Matt 10
  • 24 The disciple is not above his master,
nor the servant above his lord.
  • 25 It is enough for the disciple that he be as
his master, and the servant as his lord. If they
have called the master of the house Beelzebub,
how much more shall they call them of his
    household?
  • 26 Fear them not therefore for there is nothing
covered, that shall not be revealed and hid,
    that shall not be known.

55
56
Mishna Talmud, Mishna Yeshua
  • Lastly there was the God-loving Pharisee
  • This type of Pharisee was considered to be
the ideal a person who obeyed God out of true
love and affection for Him, as in the manner of
Abraham. Most Pharisees were this type.
Nicodemus, Joseph of Arimathea and Rabbi Shaul,
Gamaliel, Rabbi Hillel, Rabbi Shammai etc etc
were all Pharisees who would have fit into this
    category.

56
57
Mishna Talmud, Mishna Yeshua
  • Yeshua also speaks of these in Mathew 23
  • The scribes and the Pharisees sit in Moses'
seat 3 All therefore whatsoever they bid you
    observe, that observe and do.
  • The G-d loving Phariseethis is the kind of
    Pharisee I try to be!
  • I also want you to notice, that all of these
passages of Yeshua I just quoted are all only
    from the book of Mathew.

57
58
Mishna Talmud, Mishna Yeshua
  • The one who loves Yeshua keeps His commandments.
  • John 1415
  • If ye love Me, keep my Commandments.
  • If you dont keep His Commandments, you cant
    claim to love Jesus.

58
59
Mishna Talmud, Mishna Yeshua
  • What are Jesus Commandments?
  • Just the ones in the New Testament???
  • Whos Commandments are the ones in the Old
    Testament?

59
60
Mishna Talmud, Mishna Yeshua
  • Are the Commandments in the Old Testament
Commandments of the Other G-d, the G-d of the
    Jews?
  • How many G-ds are there?
  • Back to Mishna

60
61
Mishna Talmud, Mishna Yeshua
  • Was Yeshua the only one who followed Mishna
Talmud? Lets look at the Masorah (Hebrew ?????
refers to the transmission of a religious
tradition.) of Mark and the Masorah of John for
    just a second

61
62
Mishna Talmud, Mishna Yeshua
  • Both of these Mishnas open with the same word,
    beginning.
  • Mark says
  • KJV Mark 11 The beginning of the gospel of Jesus
    Christ, the Son of God.

62
63
Mishna Talmud, Mishna Yeshua
  • John opens with John11 In the beginning was the
Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was
    God.

63
64
Mishna Talmud, Mishna Yeshua
  • Now, to any Jew (and perhaps even our beginning
Hebrew students), this word beginning of course
conjures up a reference to the Book of Genesis.

64
65
Mishna Talmud, Mishna Yeshua
  • What is that word in Hebrew?
  • To open a Jewish book with this particular word
    screams addendum.
  • Just as the Mishna is a commentary, explanation
    addendum of the Torah

65
66
Mishna Talmud, Mishna Yeshua
  • So are the Gospels an addendum to Yeshua's words
    and teachings.
  • They are Good News.
  • When Yeshua came and fulfilled the Law
(interpreted it correctly) it was Good News to
    all those who heard it.

66
67
Mishna Talmud, Mishna Yeshua
  • The Good News was NOT that Yeshua died for our
    sins. That was a secret!
  • When He told His inner circle, His disciples, He
was going to die, Peter said, No, no such thing
shall ever happen to you! They didnt believe
    it.
  • Then way ahead when He actually did die, they
    were shocked!
  • That was not Yeshuas Message that He went and
told everyone. The Gospel was told early on

67
68
Mishna Talmud, Mishna Yeshua
  • MATT 4
  • 18 And Jesus, walking by the sea of Galilee, saw
two brethren, Simon called Peter, and Andrew his
brother, casting a net into the sea for they
    were fishers.
  • 19 And he saith unto them, Follow me, and I will
    make you fishers of men.

68
69
Mishna Talmud, Mishna Yeshua
  • 20 And they straightway left their nets, and
    followed him.
  • 21 And going on from thence, he saw other two
brethren, James the son of Zebedee, and John his
brother, in a ship with Zebedee their father,
mending their nets and he called them.
  • 22 And they immediately left the ship and their
    father, and followed him.
  • 23 And Jesus went about all Galilee, teaching in
their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the
kingdom, and healing all manner of sickness and
all manner of disease among the people.

69
70
Mishna Talmud, Mishna Yeshua
  • Well the Gospel was that Yeshua was the Messiah
    of Israel!
  • Impossible!
  • Yeshua didnt start going out everywhere telling
everyone He was the Messiah! It was not to be
    spoken of!!!

70
71
Mishna Talmud, Mishna Yeshua
  • Matt 16
  • 13 When Jesus went into the region of Caesarea
Philippi he asked his disciples, "Who do people
say that the Son of Man is?"
  • 14 They replied, "Some say John the Baptist,
others Elijah, still others Jeremiah or one of
    the prophets."

71
72
Mishna Talmud, Mishna Yeshua
  • 15 He said to them, "But who do you say that I
    am?"
  • 16 Simon Peter said in reply, "You are the
Messiah, the Son of the living God."
  • 17 Jesus said to him in reply, "Blessed are you,
Simon son of Jonah. For flesh and blood has not
revealed this to you, but my heavenly Father.

72
73
Mishna Talmud, Mishna Yeshua
  • 18 And so I say to you, you are Peter, and upon
this rock I will build my church, and the gates
of the netherworld shall not prevail against it.
  • 19 I will give you the keys to the kingdom of
heaven. Whatever you bind on earth shall be bound
in heaven and whatever you loose on earth shall
    be loosed in heaven."
  • 20 Then he strictly ordered his disciples to
tell no one that he was the Messiah.

Mishna Talmud, Mishna Yeshua
  • The Good News was NOT that Yeshua died for our
    sins.
  • The Good News was NOT that Yeshua was the
    Messiah.
  • The Good News was two parts 1. That Yeshua came
    and interpreted (Mishna) Torah correctly

74
75
Mishna Talmud, Mishna Yeshua
  • That the Oral codes (Mishna Talmud) would be
clarified and perfected for those who cared to
    hear and
  • 2. That His Mishna (The Gospels) would be
transferred by His Talmideem. He didnt begin
preaching the Gospel until AFTER He started
    gathering His Talmideem.

75
76
Mishna Talmud, Mishna Yeshua
  • Put yourself in the shoes of the first century
    Pharisee for a moment.
  • (Most of us here wouldve been Pharisees)
  • You love G-d and you want to do whats best.
  • Youve been a Pharisee because what they teach
    makes the most sense.

76
77
Mishna Talmud, Mishna Yeshua
  • You couldnt have been a Sadducee. They said
theres no angels (spirit beings), you cant buy
that. The Sadducees say theres no resurrection
of the dead, that doesnt even sound Biblical to
    you

77
78
Mishna Talmud, Mishna Yeshua
  • They say the Mishna Talmud is a complete
fabrication. Well, youre not sure about that,
its got great teachings but is it from G-d (NOT
Scripture, but from G-d), you have your doubts,
especially because the Sadducees keep speaking
against Mishna every day over and over and their
words keep naggin and naggin at ya.

78
79
Mishna Talmud, Mishna Yeshua
  • You start thinking, if it wasnt for their not
believing in the resurrection and the existence
of spirit beings, maybe youd even be a Sadducee.
I mean they are the Priests in G-ds Holy Temple
    right???

79
80
Mishna Talmud, Mishna Yeshua
  • Youve been struggling with this all your life
and you just want the truth and to do whats
    right.
  • And then along comes this a man named Yeshua ben
    Yosef

80
81
Mishna Talmud, Mishna Yeshua
  • Hes doing miracles, now hes doing miracles that
only the Messiah could do, Yeshuas NOT telling
people hes the Messiah, but people are thinking
    he could be the One.

81
82
Mishna Talmud, Mishna Yeshua
  • This Yeshua is obviously from G-d no one credible
is doubting that.. and guess what?
  • Hes a Pharisee just like you are. You start
thinking Oh please, please let Him tell me if
    were supposed to follow Mishna.

82
83
Mishna Talmud, Mishna Yeshua
  • Dream of all dreams please G-d let Him tell me
and then for sure Ill know Im not supposed to
    be a Sadducee.
  • Thats the only thing keeping me from switching
and possibly making a big mistake.

83
84
Mishna Talmud, Mishna Yeshua
  • And Yeshuas says to you
  • Do as the Pharisees say!
  • Like a flood it hits you
  • The Pharisees say to follow the Mishna.

84
85
Mishna Talmud, Mishna Yeshua
  • Thank you Yeshua, thats good news. Thats really
    Good News.
  • When I need some good news, I read the Brit
Hadasha then I read some Mishna Talmud and thats
    a good day.

85
86
Mishna Talmud, Mishna Yeshua
  • I hope some of the pieces are starting to come
together for you in these teachings concerning
    the Talmud.

86
87
Mishna Talmud, Mishna Yeshua
  • Its like a big puzzle.
  • I couldnt just tell you months ago, Mishna
Yeshua and Misha Talmud are the Good News.
  • Youd be like

87
88
Mishna Talmud, Mishna Yeshua
  • I dont understand and I think youre drunk.
  • These teachings have to be brought to students
    step by step.
  • Lets look back at those steps so that you can
use them if youre trying to explain it to
    someone else.

88
89
Mishna Talmud, Mishna Yeshua
  • This is my formula (this is very basic not all
    the exposition along with it)
  • 1. The Pharisees arent all bad (Joseph of
    Aramathia, Nicodemos etc.
  • 2. These Pharisees (above) were leaders and
    rulers which had large followings.

89
90
Mishna Talmud, Mishna Yeshua
  • 3. Half of Israel was Born Again.
  • 4. Most of the people were Pharisees.
  • 5. Yeshua was a Pharisee too (said do as the
    Pharisees say)

90
91
Mishna Talmud, Mishna Yeshua
  • 6. What did the Pharisees say (teach)?
  • 7. Introduce the Mishna
  • 8. Show Pharisees taught the same things Yeshua
    taught for the most part.
  • 9. The Mishna Talmud is not all bad

91
92
Mishna Talmud, Mishna Yeshua
  • 10. Dispel Christian and Jewish myths concerning
what Mishna Talmud says about Yeshua.
  • 11. The 4 Gospels are a Mishna too.

92
93
Mishna Talmud, Mishna Yeshua
  • 12. Gospel Mishna
  • 13. The Mishnas (Yeshuas Mishna and Talmud
Mishna) are the Good News collectively
  • 14. Finally puzzle piece 1 Yeshua and the Mishna
    is realized.

93
94
Mishna Talmud, Mishna Yeshua
  • Now we can also begin to understand why we have
to engage in terminological polemics (warlike
    doctrine)
  • Because we can see now why Judaic terminology has
to replace the Greek/Gentile speak because we
lose so much by abandoning the Holy Language.

94
95
Mishna Talmud, Mishna Yeshua
  • You can imagine what its like when I share with
un-Saved Jews and I use terms such as Mikva
    (Baptism), Mishna (Gospels), Yeshua (Jesus)
    Synagogue (Church) etc. etc. etc.

95
96
Mishna Talmud, Mishna Yeshua
  • The faith of the Notzreem has been hijacked even
    in its verbiage.
  • Its time to take it back!
  • Baruch HaShem!
